What is Reiki?

The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy. Reiki is a complementary therapy that many people have found helpful in reducing anxiety and pain, and improving healing in the body. The practice of Reiki helps the nervous system move from sympathetic mode (“fight or flight”) to parasympathetic mode (“rest and digest”). When in that deep state of relaxation, the body is better able to heal itself, and we feel more balanced and peaceful.
